So, it's down to 51 days until the wedding. And I started 2 more countdowns. One for when 3 of my bridesmaids and closest friends arrive in Idaho, which is 46 days. And the other one is until my next trip to Washington, which is only 24 days away. I am so blessed. I seriously can't express in words how excited I am for the future.
So, enough about the future, a little bit about our past. Joel and I have been apart during our relationship more than we've been together. It sounds pretty crazy, but it's true. We dated for about 9 months, and have been engaged for about 5 months now. Out of that total 14 months, we've been together for 5-6 months, and apart the rest. At times it's been tough, but it's a huge learning experience for us both. I've definitely been learning to be content in every situation. It's really great that we both get to be home right now, spending lots of time with our family and friends. This journey so far has been unbelievable. I am a different person today, I've changed so much (for the better) since Joel and I have been together. It's so amazing to be in love with my best friend.
We love doing everything together. A couple of weeks ago, Joel came down for a visit, and we did our marriage counseling with Pastor Randy. And it was really beneficial, and also super cool to talk about our answers for the worksheets we had to fill out. We filled them out separately, but later we discussed them, and our answers were so similar. Some of our favorite things to do together are play volleyball, skimboard, rock climb, take pictures, hang out at the beach... actually just about anything outside. We had some of the same favorite memories; like walking around Jackson, studying together at school, and camping up at Lake Crescent with Joel's family. We always try to have a blast, with whatever we're doing.
